George H. Nofer Scholarship for Law and Public Policy
Overview
The George H. Nofer Scholarship for Law and Public Policy is for full-time graduate students with a moderate to profound hearing loss who are attending an accredited law school or a masters or doctoral program in public policy or public administration.
The George H. Nofer Scholarship for Law and Public Policy was established to recognize George H. Nofer’s service and generosity to the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (AG Bell) and to the fields of law and deafness research and education. Mr. Nofer, a retired partner of the law firm of Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP in Philadelphia, is a former member of the AG Bell board of directors. He is a co-trustee of the Oberkotter Foundation and served for more than 15 years as its Executive Director.
2010 Program Update
The deadline for the 2010 George H. Nofer Scholarship Program for Law and Public Policy was March 1, 2010 at 5 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.
Applicants have been notified via email whether or not they were selected to receive a scholarship. Award checks will be mailed by August 10, 2010.
2011 Program
Information about the 2011 George H. Nofer Scholarship Program will be available on this site in mid-January 2011. The awards will be for the 2011-2012 academic year.
